Speakers dont go as loud anymore

I have Altec Lansing speakers and the volume has decreased alot, i checked everything on volume controls. The speakers got low overnight i believe. I found out that it is the speakers, I've tried it on different systems, they are about 3 years old. What can I do?

We need to know if this is a speaker problem or a sound card problem.

Can you try your speakers on another system and see if you get the same results?

Failing that, try another set of speakers on your system and see what the results are.

Please let us know the outcome.
