hi there,basically my amd athlonxp 2200 with intergrated 32mb graphics (poor i know!) isn't good enough to play splin3 pandorra tomorrow,can somebody recommend a good pci card to upgrade with? cheers.

Hi,

It depends on your budget really. I would suggest something like a 6600 as they are reasonable on price but would be fine for the game you are trying to play.

If you can not go that high on money, then you could try a 5 series card instead, again it should be fine for the game, just not quite as good as the 6 series cards.

What is the full spec of your machine, as it depends what the other parts of your machine are as to the graphics card you need really.

the answer to that is it's a gige-byte 7vkmls,amd2200,1.8ghz,224mb ram with s3 ddr graphics..

As if it is then you will be greatly restricted as to the type of graphics card you can get. Most graphics cards now come as an AGP or PCI express type of interface, which are both greater speeds than a PCI slot can deliver. However, this card

would fit in a PCI slot but I could not say how effective it would be at running SC3. My suggestion would be to buy another motherboard and then go for an AGP or PCI express graphics card, the difference would be very noticable, and does not have to cost the earth either.(Sub £100)
