Spyware/malware infection

I've got an infection on my laptop which has resulted in my windows firewall being switched off and greyed out so i cant switch it back on

I've been through the 8 steps cleaning guide and got to the stage of installing malwarebytes anti-malware. It has been installed on my desktop, but i click the icon and nothing happens! not sure why, i've tried re-installing it but it the program just wont open, all other programs work

any help much appreciated!

Have you tried running Hijackthis?
What scans have you done so far?
Do you have any logs you can post?
Have you tried running ccleaner?
Try running this all-in-one program, it might do enough to get your other scans working properly.
