  1. hello there

got a little bit of a problem, been infected with the spywarequake malware.

    or smitfraud,

spybot search and destroy won't get rid of it,
    windows defender won't either

funny thing is, tried many other spyware hunters (all of them so far been swines) and they've found at least 20 other bits of spyware including the smitfraud. whatever.
however when it comes to removing them "please register your copy" to

    anyway

I've found instructions on how to remove this spyware quake, but they seem to be designed to remove the actual spyware quake program. not the annoying virus alert in the corner.

I never had the spyware quake program instlalled.

also it seems to be screwqing around with some of my games.
anyone know what i can do..
sorry i've been a bit vague, I'm very very tired and annoyed at thsi problem.

here is a link to a website with description

    http://www.spywarequake.org/

however of course i'd have to spend $12 to get rid of this, which is something i refuse to do.

    Hello and welcome to Techspot.

First, go HERE and follow the instructions.

Then, go HERE and follow the instructions in the order they are given.

Post a fresh HJT log, only after doing the above.

    Regards Howard

still only a free trial, but they gave me 60 days free.
