Starcraft and router

  1. Can two computers, with one ip adress, on the same linksys router, using a cable connection play on batle.net at the same time in the same game? is that at all possible.

    Out of the box, this is not possible. I do think there is a program available that will allow you to play using the same address however.

    I cannot offer any more details though since I really do not know the name of the program. Try searching on google.com or another popular search engine for it.

    My buddy and I play from here at my home or at his home with no probs. We play Diablo II on battle.lag - oops, I mean battle.net and we don't have to do anything special at all. Both of us use Linksys BEFSR41 gateways on our network. We made no special changes to make it work.

    If your router peforms network address translation (check your documentation) then in theory I can't see why this would not work.

    I have found this mostly when searching the net. And it talks like by enabling certain ports it should work. I have so far not had time to try it but thought it might help you. It concerns the x-box but if you will keep reading it gets into NAT and networking around a router.
