  1. my boss give me a project, to create a message on our servers that will appear at startup before the logon screen appears, I suggested to use a startup script but he said no, not to use a script. If any ideas please let me know.

What OS? Where and how should the message appear? On the server or clients logging into the server? Your boss is either very stupid or very clever BTW.

    Try placing a message at:

    HKLM/Software/Microsoft/WindowsNT/CurrentVersion/Winlogon/LegalNoticeCaption

That will be the title of the message window

    Edit your message at:

    HKLM/Software/Microsoft/WindowsNT/CurrentVersion/Winlogon/LegalNoticeText

This will prompt your users with a message before they log in. Problem with this is that it will appear everytime someone is about to log on - even if the machine wasn't restarted. Is that okay in this situation?
