Strange Disk Boot Failure

Hi all, i have this problem & have read through many threads & tried most of the suggestions but without success, my situation is that the disk boot failure only happens on cold mornings at a temp of anything around 5 degrees & bingo will not go past the boot-up stage, turn power off then try again & starts up as normal straight away.

Been back to the shop for a week but unfortunately it behaved itself,

Strange happenings indeed.

Replace the data plug
Also use a different power plug

Can just be a faulty harddrive (there are electronics on them too)

Try waking up office-fulls of PC's which have been off over Christmas for 10 days ! You'll find 5-10% will not boot 1st time. It's not often an indicator of imminent failure - just use your common sense, how old is the drive, does it fail like this often, does it pass a lengthy run of the manufacturers test suite?

Run a full repair install with your Windows CD, and let it run until done.
Go to the tech support site for the manufacturer of your hard drive, to download and run the drive fitness test to be certain there are no red or yellow flags, and the S.M.A.R.T test reports "healthy."
