Strange freezes

My PC has started to have a strange problem were it will freezes 2 times sometimes when playing games sometimes when on google chrome and then is fine for the rest of the day.

Might be as simple as a heavily fragmented HDD. Set aside several hours for it to work its way through all your files... https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/17126/windows-7-improve-performance-defragmenting-hard-disk (Win8/10 is similar)... also, https://www.piriform.com/defraggler works well.

Do make a "Recovery Disk" ( http://www.howtogeek.com/131907/how...ery-drive-or-system-repair-disc-in-windows-8/ )

Do make a backup of any important data files (photos, game saves, music, school projects/papers, contacts, etc)

Is it ok to fragment an ssd?
