Streamline my processes

Hi all
I have a fairly old desktop using XP home edition SP3. Core 2 E8500
I would like to streamline the number of processes in the task manager currently running at 52, which seems a little high. But don't know which ones to get rid of and how to do it properly.

hmm; I'm on XP/Pro SP2 and have 54 processes running.
I know a few I can move from Auto to Manual start, but they get started most of the
time via my usage so I've elected to leave them as Auto start to remind me of that fact.
