2600.COM report that "Nearly one hundred students at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, have had their computers seized by the administration there...." predominately for possession of illegal copies of movies and music.

Personally, I can see the day comming where there will be a real crack down on internet media file trading. Currently, its a bit of a paradise out there. Looking for some latest DVD release? Chances are its on Kazaa somewhere. Looking for the latest Enterprise episode, or Friends episode.... Then the chances are that its on IRC somewhere, perhaps even before its official broadcast time and date.

But those happy P2P users may all come to look upon these happy times as "the good old days" when the powers that be come a clamping down on this sort of thing. Personally, I think they should be trying to get rid of pornographic spam, paedophile IRC rings and on-line scams first. But you know the kind of world we live in.

How can they blame Navy students? Where else are they going to get them?
