Logitech has launched a new mechanical gaming keyboard for those that aren’t necessarily into the flashy and wild designs typically associated with the hardcore gaming community.

The Logitech G413 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard is a full-size board that features the company’s in-house Romer-G switches. Actuation distance checks in at 1.5mm with 3.0mm of total travel distance and an actuation force of 45g. Logitech rates the switch durability at 70 million keypresses.

The board is backlit with five levels of brightness although your color choices are limited to red or white. A six-foot USB 2.0 Type-A cable connects the board to your computer and there is a pass-through port so you’re effectively not losing a port. There’s a full complement of function keys across the top with media controls and macro ability built in.

Logitech says the board, which measures 17.5 inches by 5.12 inches by 1.4 inches and weighs in at 2.4 pounds, offers 26-key N-Key rollover. The G413 also includes 12 additional keycaps and a key puller so you can swap out the WASD caps with a set of “raised” caps should you so choose.

Ujesh Desai, vice president and general manager of Logitech G, said they spent a lot of time carefully designing and engineering the keyboard to deliver advanced performance with just the right feature set at the right price point.

The Logitech G413 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard is available in your choice of carbon or silver priced at $89.99.

I actually quite like it from what I can see and have read. None of that RGB, volume controls and macro nonsense but even without it, it's still quite a steep price. I like the fact it has back lit keys, that's very handy to me and the colour/s is of no consequence but the lack of a palm rest is considering it's price tag. They could've at least chucked that in but I suppose nothing is perfect and they are trying to make it as compact as possible with without going down the TKL route. Always a plus in my book.

Ahhhaha I see what you did there.

Nice boring keyboard, still not sold on those in house key switches however.
