Suddenly Slow shared wireless connection?

System specs: Linksys WRTG54 with WMPG54 network cards
2 comps + 1 laptop runs wireless and 1 comp is wired.

I suddenly started to get a slow connection during any downloading of items even on webpages. My router speed acutally drops from 54kps to 48kps which I have never seen. My signal strength spikes, My internet connection stays connected for 1 min then goess off for a while then comes back on. I powercycled everything and it works well for maybe 10 mins then symtomps reappear. I thought maybe someone was downloading/uploading but I MAC filtered to let my comp online only, still same problems.

If you are using wireless, check for interferance from objects and other radio-emmiting devices. You can try force the speed to stay at 54g but that depends on your router's config. Check your antenna is secured on properly (it happens)

set your router to run in G mode only. any nearby B-mode devices will cause this to occur.

might also change the channel to 11.
