Suspicious, possible Trojan?

Hello guys. I'm sorry that my first post has to be asking for help, but I had a quick question.

I have two different smss.exe programs, even though to my knowledge, there is only one legitimate one.


One is located in:

C:\WINDOWS\system32

The other is in:

C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386



Are they both okay?

What made me nervous, was when it wanted to communicate with Steam. I was curious why it would need to do that. Any ideas?

Maybe check Tasks in Control Panel
And if any updates are turned on somewhere

You can use Startup Control Panel to see what starts with your computer
