Please help - svchost.exe is using up huge amounts of resource on my laptop.

I ran AVG 7.5 and it detected nothing (nothing on the scan report at all) and the only way I can do anything with my PC is to stop svchost.exe using Taskmanager.

Here is the current hijack log (after I stopped svchost.exe)

    Hello and welcome to Techspot.

You`re using an outdated version of HijackThis.

Do a search of your system and let me know the filepaths of any svchost.exe files. If they are legit, they should be running from the C:\windows\system32 folder.

Post a fresh HJT log as per these instructions.

    Regards Howard

    Here is the revised log:

svchost.exe is only in the c:\windows\system32 directory
I really appreciate your help on this

Your HJT log is clean as a whistle mate.

Take a look at this thread HERE. Maybe it`ll help.

    Regards Howard :)
