Swat 4 ping help

Well i have no idea what ping is but when ever i try to go onto swat 4 onto the online section most of the time i am disconnected from the server because it says my ping is to high. sometimes i am on 69 then it goes right up to 450. can anyone help me to keep this lower then really 250. Because of my area its hard to get a connection and so my internet speed can range from anything from 11 mbps to 54mbps but genrally is around 36 mbps. It has worked in the past but it sometimes just gets to high so please help

my only advice would be to try playing on servers located close to you. much better ping playing on a local server.

yer but how do i know which servers are close to me ?

are you playing on wireless?

yer anything from 18 mbps to 45 mbps

well im from aus so i only go on aus servers. etc.

yea i takes less time to communicate with a server that is closer to you. The Ping is a measure of this. (im pretty sure).
