oK heres my question. I was going to go out and buy a case fan to get all that hot air out of my case. My dad noticed that there was fans in an old broken 350 w PSU. So I decided to get them out and I thought they'd never fit but WOW they fit perfectly into a case fan slot thing. It even had useable screws!! So I screwed it in
Now the fan is rigged up to a 5v rail of a Molex connector even though it is a 12v fan. I'm wondering if its possible to damage my Harddrive by connecting the fan to a molex connector on my 300w PSU. will the power being taken by the fan steal the HDD's power?
It seems to work good enough but I don't know if theres some invisible damage occuring.
