system running fine but iexplore.exe always running

hi all, ive noticed for a while that an instance of iexplore.exe is running (Nothing on the taskbar) regardless of if im actually using IE or not.

its mem usuage i only 3,100 or so but the user is SYSTEM, when i use IE to surf the net the user is DJHicks..

the system doesnt hang, get sluggish or anything but it must be upto something...

ran adware se, spybot etc and its still there! theres no other iexplore.exe file on my pc (except the prefetch)

heres the hijack log

even shows it here "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" as the orig exe file...

any ideas?

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

your system is infected with malware, you`re also running an outdated version of Hijackthis.

I have moved your thread to our Security and the Web forum.

Very Important: Before deciding whether you should clean or reformat your system, go and read this thread HERE and decide what it is you want to do.

If after reading the above, you wish to clean your system, do the following.

Go and read the Viruses/Spyware/Malware, preliminary removal instructions. Follow all the instructions exactly.

Post fresh HJT, AVG Antispyware and Combofix logs as attachments into this thread, only after doing the above.

Also, let me know the results of the AVG Antirootkit scan.
