    I have taken the screws out and have seperated the case. Problem is the is a flat cable that attaches the screen to the video port and the MOBO how do these seperate to take unit fully a part. Pics or illustrations would be great. Visual learner LOL thanks Bill

    Have you searched for a service manual on the Dell website? I found a manual for my thinkpad which basically told a service engineer how to completely disassemble it.

    Bill,
    there is a small plastic ring or retainer that needs to be carefully lifted just enough to release the flat cables. To reassemble, insert the flat cable and push down the plastic retainer
