So we bought my brother a new laptop so he could actually play some of his games that he wanted to. The machine meets or exceeds the minimum system requirements for all the games, and they all run fine, except apparently he's having a problem playing Team Fortress 2. When ever the maps change, the system freezes up. More specifically, if he is connected to a server and playing a game, and the server rotates out maps, his game client locks up and we have to kill it with the task manager. The computer renders the game just fine, on higher than minimum graphics settings too... but every time the server switches out maps, it freezes up every time. Anyone have any idea what might be wrong? Very briefly, the computer has an Intel Core i5-520M 2.4GHz processor, and an ATI MOBILITY RADEON HD 4570, and 2GB of RAM. Plenty of HDD space too (around 300GB I think).
