  1. TechnoBoob (TB, in future) accurately describes this Senior Citizen who has very little technical training in any field. I obviously did not grow up with computers and I was a Liberal Arts major. To me, a computer should be just another appliance -- and it should just (dammit) work. I am now struggling to use an iMac, having given up on the perennially crashing, freezing, pc. It is far more stable than the pc, but Apple seems to think it would spoil the coolness of it all to give simple, straightforward instructions -- to anything. I visit sites such as these when I happen across them. My interest is usually in just solving a particular problem at a particular time. I'm sorry if that makes me a misfit.

    Kimsland,
Thanks for the info. This is overkill, but here is my iMac data:

    Model Name: iMac

Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
    Processor Speed: 2.16 GHz
    Number Of Processors: 1
    Total Number Of Cores: 2

    Memory: 1 GB
    Bus Speed: 667 MHz

Should I somehow insert this info into my introduction?
    Hopefully, not
    TB

Well they go into your Profile actually
Here in Introduce yourself thread, it won't help all that much, when asking for support on another thread
