Yeah, I know my computer is really, really shabby and unfit. But as of right now, I don't have any funds to buy a new one. Basically every time I attempt to play The Sims 3 sometime within 1-2 minutes of game play/loading, I will get the BSOD.
My Technical Information on the blue screen is:
STOP: 0x00000075 (0x0000000D, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

I've been having this problem for over 8 months now. I'm beyond frustrated, confused, and overwhelmed.

Thanks in advance!:)

All five minidump files cite the same Nvidia display driver nv4_disp.dll as the cause of your issue. I suggest doing the following...

1. Download Driver Sweeper free version to your desktop screen and install.

2. Download the latest diver(s) for your video card but don't install them.

3. Uninstall your video card drivers and reboot your PC into Safe Mode. Run Driver Sweeper and remove ONLY the video card drivers. I had someone use it on their chipset drivers! If it doesn't find any video card drivers that is quite okay; just leave all other drivers alone.

4. Reboot and install new video card drivers.

Errors, Still No Progress

I followed your steps as suggested. Driver Sweeper didn't delete all of the components within the NVIDIA- Display . I got this error immediately after clicking clean:
See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

I pressed continue on anyway. After multiple tries and multiple hours, I had about 6 registry parts remaining.

Upon reboot and logging in, I got these errors:
RUNDLL
Error Loading C:/WINDOWS/system32/NvMcTray.dll
Specified module could not be found.

RUNDLL
Error Loading C:/WINDOWS/system32/NVCpl.dll
Specified module could not be found.
---
I decided to try the driver installation anyway. The installer failed. And I got the following information:
NVIDIA Update Version1.3.5 Not Installed
nView Version 135.85 Not Installed
NVIDIA Control Panel Version 275.333 Failed
Graphics Driver Version 275.33 Failed
---
I tried The Sims 3 again to get another MiniDump to see if that helps in any way, and was unable to because "Device 0 cannot run this title. No supported video graphics card detected. Please check your system hardware."
Sorry for the mass of information and text, I just want to resolve this issue and be as helpful as possible.
I also unclipped and reclipped my RAM and cleaned out all the dust within my case.

Yes, somewhere in all my boxes in my spare office. I might be able to find it, for I labeled everything properly. Do I need to reinstall Windows?
I also got more RUNDLL errors beside the ones I posted previously.

No you don't need to reinstall; we'll try a Windows Repair. You won't lose any of your current files.

CD is Found

I have found my Windows XP CD and will repair it with instructions I found online. Or should I wait for further instruction from this forum? Just wanted to update and let it be known that I have not run away from his thread. I will then edit this post with the outcome.

Just follow the directions for Windows Repair for your OS that you found online. We would have linked you to the directions but you have already found them.

Ok so the Windows Repair was going along smoothly until I had 9 minutes left and it is "Registering Components". Then this error appeared:
setup.exe Application Error
The exception unknown software exception (0xc0000409) occurred in the application at location 0x6976db5f.
It then gives me the options of "OK" or "Cancel". It doesn't seem to matter which one I click because it will then restart to a mouse cursor on a black screen and freeze.
I have tried the repair 3 times with the same stop point and the same error. Even without the Windows disk in it will take me straight to the Windows Repair screen when restarted. ( I used my mobile phone browser to post this. :) )

I don't know. I know this information can be obtained using Control Panel/Device Manager but it seems my Windows isn't installed and won't install because of the Windows Repair error.. What do I do now?

If this is a PC open your side case panel and with a flashlight find your harddrive. It will take to the make.

Western Digital has a harddrive diagnostics utility. Run that utility and make sure you run the Long Test.

Thank You, but I Think I'm Done

This is a lot more than I thought it would be. Maybe my computer is just so awful and crummy it isn't even possible for me to play the Sims 3. It started off with one problem/error which soon spiraled into many others. I'm pretty sure I borked my PC and Windows too. I'm going to do a clean install even though I have many school documents and files that should (but can't) be saved. Dumb me however didn't back up and I just launched myself head first in this all. Oh well, I'll live and learn.

Thank you for the time and instructions you gave me, much appreciated. Like I said, it became a little too much to the point where I was checking the forum near every hour to see if there were new instructions. And if I wasn't constantly refreshing, I was trying to figure out how they heck to follow through with the ones recently given. Again, thanks so much.

Now I jut hope my clean install completes successfully... if not I might just have to smash my PC. ;P

Hold a minute! Before reformatting slave that harddrive into another PC and from that PC see if you access this harddrive.

Many people find this a successful way of getting information off of a harddrive.
