The Windows 10 anniversary update has stopped millions of webcams from working

I tried the registry changes suggested using an Intex IT-305WC webcam but no joy. Also tried reinstalling the driver but webcam no longer recognised in device manager. Any ideas other than waiting for Microsoft to fix this? Thanks

I've used Microsoft for years. BUT IF Microsoft wants to go in the direction that Apple has been on, then I will just finally switch to Apple.

You might be very happy with Linux Mint. Apple's "iron-fist" is as bad (or worse than) MS's. With Mint, you can "pre-test/live-boot" to check if it'll do what you want + you can just use your existing hardware, too!
