I just installed the Thermalright SLK-900 heatsink + 80mm case fan. The processor temperatures went from around a normal temperature of about 129 Fahrenheit idle temperatures (not sleep mode), to about 107Fahrenheit.

I definately recommend this heatsink to everyone, but I don't recommend trying to install it if you don't know a lot about building computers. It is very time consuming. You are required to unplug almost everything so you can take out the motherboard and install the heatsink. That's never fun for because I worry about the possibiltys of static electricity shocking the motherboard or something similar and harming my computer. It is well worth it though. If your thinking about getting a heatsink I definately recommend this one!

The SLk-800 was allready very good ( if not the best for the AMD platform ).

Is it mounted with the 4 holes around the socket or does it still use the Socket clip like the SLK-800 ?

EDIT : I got my answer ;)

I recently went from a coolermaster HHC-L61 to the SLK-800 (as my board doesn't have mounting holes). This thing is a huge lump of copper but keeps my 2100+ Tbred B @ 2.171Ghz @ 37C idle and @ ~44C full load. Thats with a 20dBA 1950rpm YS-Tech 27CFM fan. Very very impressive (SLK-800 is basically a slightly smaller AMD heatsink, very similar to the SLK-900)

Versions for clip and bolting to the motherboard are both available.

I love this heatsink, I am now seeing idle temperatures of 109'Fahrenheit compared to about 130 or so that I was getting lately. Well worth the $50.
