thngs showing up in network places

im using xp and i noticed that today something was in my network places.....when itry to delte it ...it locks up.......how can i remove thngs from network places?

Are you sure its locking up? I just tried on mine and it sat there and didn't look like it was doing anything, I went to another window and came back and they were deleted. It might just take longer than you'd expect.

Well it could be searching for that actual network location, and if it isn't there anymore it could hang. Just give it some time and it might give you an error or something saying it is no longer available. Or as SNGX said it could just be thinking

"My Network Places" can take an enormously long time to alter/change/view files if you are on a large network.

For example, I was a network with about a dozen workgroups and each workgroup had about a dozen computers. If I changed the "view" to sort from location instead of name, I would have to wait several minutes for it to finish.
