    I have a toshiba and every time I try to insert my internet card, it freezes up. When I am not trying to get online my laptop works fine. I als haven't noticed any other problems.

    shutdown your system,
    insert the PCMICA card (or NIC if that's what your refering to)
    and then boot the system.

    Windows should install the correct drivers for that device.

    THEN Right-click My Computer->properties->Hardware->Device Mgr
    and expand Network Adaptors.

    There should be now YELLOW or RED marks on the device.

    Put the card in before you boot the system. Once the card is recognized by the system and the appropriate drivers are loaded, use it. If it still doesn't work, assume the card is jacked.

    Read up Ted I asked what card he had, as he stated that when he inserted the card he was having problems I wondered what model of card he was using,
