hai.....frns im having toshiba tecra s2 laptop n whenever i try to shut the lid while the laptop is on a continous loud beep is heard.........????

Normal but you can disable it

go to toshiba power management or
in desktop right click > properties > screen saver > power option > advanced
as tipstir said... it can be configured.
