    Hello,
I contracted this spyware on my computer. I use Trend Micro AV. Everytime I start/restart my computer, IE opens by itself and Trend Micro shows me a message regarding quarantine of "TROJ_STARTPAG.RE". Also, my desktop has been hijacked. When I try to access it through the conttrol panel, it does not show me the Desktop tab. The desktop background is black with a warning that my "Computer is infected.....etc, etc". I also used Micosoft Antispyware, but it does not detect anything. Trend Micro detects "ADW_SEARChAIS.A".
I will appreciate if someone could help me get rid of this annoying background.

    Thank You.

you have obviously STILL not read the sticky - the one that says that copied and pasted logs will be ignored, and to post them as a txt attachment. I give up.

I've seen a number of PCs with problems that all had this Spyware-Dr installed.
It's a quirky program, that does little good anywhere. It uses up lots of resources and gives very little in return.
The standard progs such as Adaware and Spybot all run circles around it.
Against Trojans there is very little defense. Surfing with your brain on full alert is the safest option.

NV13's trojan might be hiding in the prefetch area or the system-restore area.
