Trouble installing windows 98 SE

Hello,

My pc configuration -
Motherboard - Intel chipset 810
Ram - 128 MB SDRAM
Processor - 667 celeron
HDD - IDE Segate 10 GB
CD rom - 40x creative


while installing windows hdd reads/ writes very slow. I kept the machine on for whole night but still setup could not copy all the windows file. also hdd led remains on constantly.

Make sure you have DMA enabled in the BIOS setup for both the hard drive and CDROM. Test your hard drive.

I would do a surface scan on the hard drive.

With a hard drive that is that old it is possible that it has too many bad sectors and needs replacing.
