Trouble reformatting Windows XP

    I am trying to reformat Windows XP on my Dell Dimension 4550. I am booting from a CD and everytime i get to the MSDOS portion of the setup (right before the Welcome to Setup screen) my computer shuts itself off. What can I do to fix this problem? Please help!
