You guys should really check out the new version of Tenebrae for Quake I - it'll bring new life into the game for you guys - I guarantee. I used to play with an older version of this thing and it would bring my machine to a crawl. This new version runs extremely smooth @1024 now - haven't tried a higher res.

That's all for now - should be enough to drag some of you retro players back in. Also, check out the official Tenebrae site at:

Okay - I got some even higher quality textures now - so it looks even better than my screenshots I've posted - I will update with newer screenies later - but I better get some sleep for now.

Man I thought "for Quake I" was a typo...

People are still making mods for these games?

    Well, it's like Half-Life...

Sorry for sarcasm... I can't resist it sometimes. I still play Quake I very occassionally.

I tryed the previous build & it was allready very nice ( allthough very slow ). The new high-res textures add a lot to the graphics & bump-mapping is awesome.:D

It's still very buggy with ATI cards, even with 2.4 Catalyst drivers. There's a patch specifically for the Radeon 9700 Pro but nothing in sight for 8500/9000 models.

I wonder if someone would come up with something like this for Duke Nukem.;)
