Trying to shrink my avi files to burn to DVD and fit

I'm trying to copy 15 episodes of Family Guy to a dvd. (I downloaded the files in .avi format from the internet). I am fine with this potentially taking 2 DVD's up--but at the moment unless i get help, it'll take 3 discs! I know it has to be some solution to avoid this.

I have a 120 minute blank DVD and I am using ULead Movie Factory 4.0...but the 15 episodes won't fit onto the DVD. I have searched high and low for help before coming here...EVERYTHING I find tells me how to shrink a DVD to make it fit so it can be burned, but nothing about shrinking AVI files!! Can someone assist here?

I tried using DVD shrink--but it won't shrink the files for me because it says they can't be found (I know they are there and whatnot). Plus I believe that DVD shrink is maybe more useful if I was trying to shrink Star Wars or something where it was already "on" a DVD.

Your best bet, would be to buy the series on DVD.
