Hi. I'm having trouble logging into one of the admin panels of my web host, i think because they use a proxy of some sort. They told me to disable my firewalls and try it. I use zone alarm, but symantec/norton stuff was pre-installed on this computer when i bought it. I thought I had shut it all down but when I go to [control panel -> security center ] it says that norton worm protection is on.
I've opened up msconfig and unchecked everything on the services and startup tag that says either symantec or norton and have also went to [control panel -> administrative tools -> services ] and unchecked the same.

It's still saying that its running. I appreciate any help. Thanks.

Zone Alarm defiantely should be closed during your tests and rather than disabling Norton, uninstall the bastard! =)

I use ZA and its easy to configure, but it does cause alot of issues.

Thanks. I uninstalled Norton. Disabled everything and still doesn't work. The admin page is on a weird port. I'm going to start another thread about it.
