TV Troubles

I have an LG TV.
When I turn on the TV, everything appears normally for 5 seconds. Then it will turn off, 5 seconds pass and it will automatically turn on again. It repeats this process until I manually turn everything off. Any solutions?

LCD? CFL or LED backlight? How old? Warranty?

Disconnect and reconnect power and cable connections. Check OSD menu and see if it gets clobbered by set 'turning off' problem.

If menu gets clobbered then likely you have an electronic failure which you cannot easily fix. If TV is directly connected to mains and you are not experienced electrician/tech, do not open - go to certified tech.

If set uses a separate power adapter, try replacement.

May be cheaper to buy new TV.
