Two identical DVD RWs

A friend of mine just built a system in which he installed two identical Lite On DVD RW drives. Windows won't recognize both of them at once since when he goes to install the drivers on the second one, windows says that it can't do it since it already has that driver installed. He can use either one or the other but not at the same time. Is there a way to work around this? thanks

You don't have to install any drivers for optical drives in Windows. It either Just Works or not.

Does the BIOS recognise both drives?

sorry for the bad terminology. I guess it would be better to say that windows loads one but won't the other. Both are recognized in the bios

got it fixed! He went to Lite on's website and downloaded their bios flash utility, flashed to what ever version they had available, left the other alone and now they both work.
