Types of laptop hard disc

Hello,

I was wondering if somone would quickly give me a explaination of the differnt laptop hard disc types.

I know there are laptop hard drives with pins, and some have a flat PCB type of connection.

ATA 2.5" form factor hard drives use a 44-pin connector, SATA 2.5" hard drives use the standard SATA connectors.
