This mobo got me wondering, packs alot of specs :
18 SATA ports (10 are SATA3 ports from the Intel X99 Express chipset, 8 are SAS ports stemming from the LSI SAS 3008 controller) and five PCI-E 3.0 x 16slots for 4-way graphics cards! 600$ motherboard for some serious business, I think this would be ideal for a video editing workstation..

I'm probably one of the few that uses the ASRock Z87 Extreme11
There is always a market for their Extreme11 series boards. I use mine for a bounch of stuff gaming, media server, video editing with all 22 SATA ports even 2way SLI. Might be a bit over kill 4 way SLI but who knows... :D :D

Frkng crazy. But I like it. Would it be also good to see the cost diference if there was 2 versions of this board - a 'video board' with 4 gpu crossfire/sli with normal amounts of storage ports and a 'storage board' with minimal video (1 gpu pci-e x16) and the crazy storage capabilities and found this to be the best way (one monster board) from a cost perspective.

Think about it, 18 of the newer 6tb drives would be close to 120TB of storage.
