In my Laptop I am unable to install any new programme - OS - xp-sp3

Is it with Genuine OS CD or pre-installed recovery partition/.... If you've downloaded and created a bootable CD, were you able to install on a different system? What is the exact error message[with error code] that you are getting? If you are referring to installation of new programs, then please provide more info on the OS installed, whether you are having admin rights or not?
