Hi,

  1. Open notepad and copy/paste the text in the quote box below into it (all except the word QUOTE):

    File::
    C:\WINDOWS\iun6002.exe
    C:\Program Files\AdVantage\AdVantage.exe
    Folder::
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\{85D61740-23AD-4D14-A3AA-3C1702FA8DDD}
    C:\Program Files\0
    C:\Program Files\AdVantage
    C:\Program Files\MyWebSearch
    Registry::
    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\shared tools\msconfig\startupreg\AdVantage]
    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\shared tools\msconfig\startupreg\My Web Search Bar]
    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\shared tools\msconfig\startupreg\MyWebSearch Email Plugin]
  2. Save this as CFScript on the desktop.
  3. Referring to the image below, drag CFScript (hold the left mouse button while dragging the file) and drop it (release the left mouse button) into ComboFix.exe.
    CFScript.gif

  4. ComboFix will begin to execute, just follow the prompts. After reboot (in case it asks to reboot), it shall produce a log for you. Post that log (Combofix.txt) in your next reply.

    Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause your system to hang

Thereafter, please post fresh HJT and AVG Antispyware logs and the resultant ComboFix log from the above instructions as attachments into this thread.

Hi,

Manually Navigate in Windows Explorer and delete these two
C:\Avenger\backup.zip
C:\FAUXVIRUS

Attach a fresh HJT and ComboFix log in you next reply. Thanks.

Hi,

Your logs look clean now.

  1. Please download and run CCleaner via step 9 of the instructions HERE.

  2. Delete all files in AVG Antispyware Quarantine folder. (located in C:\Program Files\Grisoft\AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5\Quarantine)

  3. Turn off system restore (XP/ME only). Learn how to do that HERE.
    This will remove all the remaining nasties from your old restore points.

  4. After that turn system restore back on.
    This would have created a new safe and clean restore point for your system.

  5. Often times, an infection can occur again not due to the incompetence of programs, but because of user habits.
    May I recommend you to read this article.
    This can help to prevent future infections.

Should you have any further problems, please post in this thread.

btw: I couldnt find the folder "Quarantine" in the "AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5 folder".

Hi,

What exactly happens when you attempt to access the control panel in that account? Please provide some details, thanks. I'm not sure what is the cause, but I'll try my best to solve your problem.

PS. disregards the quarantine folder instruction.

momok

When i try to access the control panel an error message pops up :

Code:
"The operations has been canceled due to the restrictions in
effects on this computer.Please contact your system Administrator"

I was having this problem with my normal account but Mr.howard_hopkinso
helped me solve this problem.

Hi,

Could you log in with your administrator account and run a HijackThis scan? Post that log in the next reply thank you.

Regards,
momok

I just wanted to know if there is a way to enter "administrator" other than in safe mode...it will be much easier..

On your log in screen, hold ctrl and alt then tap delete twice. That will allow you to log in with any account you may have on the pc.

No...it didnt solve anything :( is there ANY way i can change the administrator password without entering the control panel (with the registery or something .....)
