Unable to watch any downloaded videos

Any videos i have downloaded (direct) aren't watchable, the screen is black, but i still hear the audio, any ideas for what might be causing this? Everything was working fine last week now i cant watch any videos i dled to my computer. Youtube and stuff still works though. I Use windows xp professional

1.Have you updated your ATI video video card recently ? If so, look HERE

2.Try System Restore to last week

3.Reinstall your media players.

4.Download KMP media player or VLC media player.

I've done everything but the system restore, could you help me with that?

Nah they arent DivX and i have all the codecs needed i never deleted any of them or tried messing around with them. It was working one day, the next day it didn't work..

Did the VLC or KMP play anything ? Normally they will work where all else fails.

If they don`t work then it is possibly a video card setting as mentioned above.

For the System Restore option - Start/Programs/Accessories/System tools/System restore.

What type of videos are they,anyway ? wmv,mpeg,avi ?

They're MP4 VLC usually works, but i only hear sound, no video...:\

Well then,it must be setting with your video card.
