  1. Hi,

I was just wondering how to uninstall ActiveX Controls because when I go to the "C:\Windows\Downloaded Program Files" and right click on the one I want to uninstall I don't get an option to remove it.

    Hi iss,

Yeah, I read that but my problem is that I don't have the remove option when I right click on the activex control. I checked my other computer and the Downloaded Program Files folder has an IE symbol and when I right click I get the option to remove the selected activex control. The folder (on the other computer) has a column called Status which tells me if the control is installed. I don't have that in the computer I'm having trouble with. Out of curiosity, could I just use HiJackThis to remove it? Thanks for the help.

Do you have administrator priviledges on the computer that is giving you the problem?

there is a freeware program called "ActiveX helper" that will allow you to disable any active X control.

Yes, I am the admin on the computer. I would prefer to remove it completely rather than to just disable it. Thanks for the link though I think I'll just do that until I can find a way to remove it.
