Uninstall suse linux

I have Suse linux and xphome with dual boot Grub. I want to uninstall Suse so as I can run VMware and install op systems that way.
I know I can use FIXMBR to remove the grub loader and install original boot.
I'm frightened to click on any further screens in the recovery console in case it goes straight into recovery.
Can anyone tell me how far I have to go into recovery to get the fixmbr option
any help appreciated

You can't click anything in recovery console.. You can't even click anything in the Windows installer.. What exactly are you doing?

If you are inside the Windows installer then you are clearly asked, whether to use the recovery console or perform a repair install. If you understand English and actually watch what is on the screen then there is no problem.

Alternative: Download the Windows 98 custom boot disk from www.bootdisk.com . Write the floppy, boot from it. At the DOS prompt run "fdisk /mbr". Remove the floppy, reboot.
