Unusual Dual Boot Problem

I just purchased a new Core 2 PC, it came with XP home. XP Home is perfect for the children to run games.

I prefer XP Pro, and have a legal copy from the old PC that is to be discarded.

I want to create a dual boot system and used Partician Magic to create a volume X:.

When I change directory and put the XP Pro into the DVD / CD, I get an error message something about trying to install an older version and it will not install.

How can I get around this failure to install problem?

Sooner or later I will have some corruption issue on the home version and XP Pro will permit me to quickly fix the issue.

You might find it useful to read all the Microsoft stuff on Dual boots in their Knowledgebase. You might be making some assumptions about what is possible. Also, you will need Partition Magic 8.0 or better to have good luck at this.
