Upgrade help

im running a PCI-ex version 1.
im running a 8500gt now. i want to upgrade to a 9600gt but its PCI-ex 2.0 how slow wil carde really be ? is it worth it? plz help

the difference in speed is marginal, around 5% if I remember right.

No difference. PCI-E 2.0 slots are fully compatible with older PCI-E cards and vice-versa.

ive got a duel core 1.8 socket 775
1 gig ddr2 ram
8500gt 512mb....

if i must upgrade what must i get? something average not expensive plz help

It would depend on what resolution you want to play at. A 9600GT will be good for any resolution upto 1440x900. Beyond that, you would want to go for the HD 4850 or 9800GTX.

Your PSU will also matter, since more powerful cards usually suck more power.

Well if you were getting 50fps %5 off wouldnt be noticable in most games.
