Hi folks. I am new to this Forum, so bear with me as I get used to it.
I have Win XP Home previously installed on my Dell 8200 and I am thinking about buying the XP Pro upgrade package due to advanced features that this OS has. My problem is that my XP Home has some application problems that I can't seem to fix, i.e. my Media Player Licenses have become corrupted and now the Media Player is virtually useless.
If I decide to upgrade, will the XP Pro upgrade package overwrite my problem applications so that the upgraded OS will function as if it were pre-installed?

    Thanks for your help.

    Answer these:
    1) Is a full install not an option?
    2) is it just media player your worried about?
    3) What other application problems are you worried about?

if you answered no to 1, then i think an upgrade should update the applications that are defaults with xp, such as media player.

if you answered yes to 2, then why dont you re install windows media player?

I think there's a compatibility check before upgrading, you could check what kind of problems there might be.
