Alright im thinking about upgrading my pc i used to programs to scan my pc Belarc Advisor and www.crucial.com/systemscanner. Now when i did this i found to odd things first i have 1gb of ram installed right but both of these programs are reporting it wrong for some reason, i havent fooled around with my pc in upgrading it since i bought it about 1yr ago only once when the memory it came with one was wrong and they replaced it and just put it in and it works so i dont know why it is reporting at 128 slock 1 and 2 but iwant to upgrade my pcs memory

System scanner
Maximum Memory Capacity: 4096MB
Currently Installed Memory: 256MB
Available Memory Slots: 2
Number of Banks: 4
Dual Channel Support: Yes
CPU Manufacturer: AuthenticAMD
CPU Family: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+ Model 11, Stepping 1
CPU Speed: 2009 MHz
256MB Total
256MB current memory
128MB 128MB

Belarc Advisor
Processor
2.00 gigahertz AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core
256 kilobyte primary memory cache
1024 kilobyte secondary memory cache
Main Circuit Board
Board: NF-CK804
Bus Clock: 200 megahertz
BIOS: Phoenix Technologies, LTD 6.00 PG 09/30/2005
Memory Modules
1024 Megabytes Installed Memory

Slot 'A0' has 128 MB
Slot 'A1' has 128 MB
Slot 'A2' is Empty
Slot 'A3' is Empty

Now as u can tell by these reports what i find odd is that both are reporting 128 mb int two slots when its suppose to be 512 on two slots
much help would be apreciated thank you. I read the memory tutorial though it did not help and found out my pc takes DDR PC3200,DDR PC2700,DDR PC4000

Right click on My Computer and go to Properties and see what it says. 256 vs 1 gig is a pretty big discrepancy on how it is reported. You may want to look into a BIOS update.

I did some googling, you have a Gigabyte K8N something board? Try Everest instead of Belarc, people had better luck with it. The NF-CK804 is the nForce4 rather than your actual motherboard.

yes i have the nForce 4 SLI uATX (131-K8-NF44-AX) Motherboard i right clicked on my pc and reports 1 gig of memory odd how the other two programs report 128 in two slots oo
