Upgrading to a RAID 0 system

I am looking to upgrade to a RAID 0 system by purchasing another Maxtor 6L300S0.

Putting the drive in seems pretty straight forward, but how easy is it to set up the RAID 0? Do I copy everything acrosss and is it a safe procedure without risk of data loss?

Also I don't have the OS on disk - will that be a problem?

Most of the software seems to be in place as its asks about RAID setup at post.

Thanks in advance for your help.

first I would read the manual or online help to get better understanding of the
specifc HOT-TO for the product you are using.

secondly, the ususal sequence is to install hardware, update the bios,
and define/setup the RAID environment, and THEN load software. Personally,
I would not expect a copy to be effective at all. My question would be
is it possible to create a RAID for two or more disk and NOT destroy the software
already installed? For Stripping I would guess NOT and for a Mirror, it would be likely to work.
