upgrading,will I see all that much of a dif?

Ok here are my current system specs. not all that good I know...
P-4 2.0Ghz Northwood
512MB PC3200
80GB HardDrive
Ati 9600xt 128MB
250-watt PSU

I am upgrading to this. My mobo supports up to a 3.4Ghz P-4
P-4 3.0Ghz Prescott
adding another 512MB PC3200
550 watt PSU

My question is. Will I see enough performance difference to spend $300?

i dont think there will be much difference if i was you i would just stick with what i have. maybe just add the 512mb

Well since you posted in gaming, i will assume that you game. If you do, i think that it would be a good idea. If anything spring for more ram, and that psu. But one ghz extra speed would be nice to. But if you surf the web or something, then it is a bit uneeded.

Ya I do some gaming I play halo and UT 2004. I hope with these upgrades I will be able to do some heavier gaming like doom 3 ect. In about 6 months i am going to get the 6800gt when it comes down in price.
