USB ports not working

  1. I have a Dell Inspiron 9100 laptop, great laptop, but my USB ports stopped working. I've checked in device manager, and they still show to be "working properly" and i've checked in the BIOS and they appear and are enabled. When I plug anything in the USB ports, nothing happens. I'm all out of ideas. Any advice or tips??

    Go into device manager and uninstall USB. Restart the computer and hopefully they will work. Also if you don't have XP Service Pack 2 that will help also.

    I just tried that, and they are still not working. This is one I just can't figure out. Any other suggestions???
