What is your motherboard model?
If your mobo supports it, there are some cheap 933MHz -1.0 Ghz P3's, but I don't know if Newegg, Bestbuy or Walmart would have CPU's like those.

You could find some cheap p3s on ebay.

I am aware of that, but i already said no ebay. I do not have a ebay account right now, and i don't plan on getting one until next year.

Yes i had it since 2000, its a 600/mhz tho.

Gateway's reply when I asked them:
We don't support processor/motherboard upgrades. Buy a new computer.

Thanks for replies. DLSayre

ROFL LMFAO HAHAHA, gateway tech support always suck anyways.

bTW i will take this rig to one of my computer shops and see what they can do.
Thanks for the help.

I apologize about the ebay reference.

If you bring that computer to a shop they are most likely going to tell you the same thing, and try to sell you alot of overpriced work.
