Umm im thinking of taking my cover off and just putting a giant fan in there( the kind you use during summer) is this a good idea?I think it would be better then using my computers power supply to power a small $10 fan

Not really recommended. One of the enemies of computer parts, is dust. With your case open you're gonna get some heavy buildup and quickly.

=( so I have to buy a cheap fan and put it in my pc?

Well, last summer I ran with my case open and a fan blowing on it as you described, but I also had a can of compressed air that I used to blow out the dust buildup once a week.

But I don't think this is a good idea. You'll be shortening the lifespan of your motherboard and other parts with heat buildup.

As you said, fans are cheap (and easy to install).
